I didn’t read or blog as much as I meant to this year, but I wanted to write this post to remember the good moments of my reading year.
My favorite books of the year are…
The Cruel Prince was a big surprise to me, I heard about it so much for years but the hype was correct – the trilogy is amazing. The Poppy War was a difficult read; so worth it though. It’s rare for the main character in a book to surprise me so much.
As part of my 50 sub-genres challenge, I read and actually enjoyed The Silence of the Lambs. Horror in any media is not my thing but I’m still planning to watch the movie!
I read The Bone Shard Daughter and Spinning Silver during Wyrd&Wonder month and it was my favorite bookish event this year. Can’t wait for 2022! I started Dune during SciFi month that I quickly gave up on but I did finish this one book and loved it and that’s important 🙂
Spinning Silver, my first Naomi Novik novel, was incredible. Uprooted is still waiting on my shelves; I’ll get there soon!
I’m finishing 2021 on a high note: the last book I read is Cotillion by Georgette Heyer, the queen of regency romance – wonderful book that I would recommend to any lover of historical romance. It’s always good to end with a HEA 😀
